BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD

Having made zillions of postcards, well I can’t help myself. I decided I really ought to do some quilting as in QUILTING.

Fine, thought I would start small and slow, so made a small Log Cabin style Barn Raising with HST’s, from Maggi’s fabrics. Mmmmm gorgeous.

Now how to quilt it? Feathers? Of course. Swirls? Of course. Pebbles? Of course!

Threads? Hmm variegated, nah not on this gorgeous fabric Janet what are you thinking! So a plain green and blue or a matching hue to the fabrics.

I was also going to try for the first time ever to sandwich my quilt with Misty Fuse. Took me a while but I did it…hmm not sure I like it though, it seems to have flattened through the pressing process and I do like a bit of loft in my quilts. Otherwise what’s the point? Anyway, too late now it is done and a lesson learned. On to the quilting.

All quiet on the western front, cannot think how to start, ha ha, what to do, what to do? Oh just go for it. So I did and I am now at the outer edges of this small quilt it is only, 24″ square so don’t get excited….

Trouble is folks, my quilting is all over the place, I haven’t done any ‘proper’ quilting for so long I am way out of practice. So glad I did this and not a real quilt straight away, Phew!

I will finish this little quilt then put pictures up and you can tell me HONESTLY what you think, if you would be so kind that is. Until then, back to the drawing board.

Hmm what do you say about yourself? I am a Quilter. I just love to Quilt for myself and others. I love fabrics and threads, simple things, but they make me very happy.
