I do admit to sometimes doing both cos I cannot always remember if I have actually answered….

I Normally reply By Email.
Hi Jan, I like to reply to my comments by email, but I see your point of wanting others to see answers etc to the comments. I think I comment on too many blogs to tick the option of ‘follow-up comments by email’… my inbox woud be totally cluttered!! I don’t always remember to check back to a post to see if there is an answer to a question I posed.
One bloggy friend of mine has been able to set her blog so that she can reply to a comment on the blogpost and at the same time it goes through via email to the person that left the comment. It seems to work quite well but I have no idea what the settings would be! (Plus she is Blogger not WordPress so I guess that wouldn’t help anyway!)
What ever you decide to do, it has to suit you…!!
I think it depends on the comment left by the reader. If they ask a question about something on your blog, then answer them here, otherwise email them. X
I think that email is best as it is so time consuming to have to go back to blogs agin to see a reply, and you have to remember to do it as well!

a personal reply inan e-mail is always nice .. however it does depend on the topic as itmay be of interest to every one .. that a BIG help isn’t it!! Im siting on the fence as I tend to do a bit of both! lol x

Ooo I just noticed my email is wrong you have my old one which was hacked. I will amend it. There all done its the gmail one x:)

me too prefer an email. I answer mine with e-mail but I should consider answering a question via blog like Caz mentioned. mmh. something to think about.
